Description

Global events over the past few years have taught us, unambiguously, that change can come in disruptive and unexpected ways. As institutions, our reputations have to leave room for flexibility and change... but our audiences need to know that we’re reliable, stable, trustworthy entities. That’s the critical question: How do you remain flexible while simultaneously building a reputation for stability and trust? At the UVA Library we’ve been seeking to build trust relationships through communications methods and user experience tools, all of which can be utilized beyond the library world. In this session you’ll learn about underpinnings of this philosophy, mechanics of building trusting user relationships (including a few immediately-actionable takeaways), and ways to fortify teams to engage in this work in an ongoing and sustainable way.
