Corie Forrest

During the last 10 years Corie Forrest has worked for Virginia Commonwealth University as an assistant director of communications for web and technology services for the provost, a senior web developer for technology services, and currently works as the EIT accessibility coordinator for technology services. For three years, Forrest and the web services team worked on remediating over 500 VCU websites for accessibility during an investigation by the Office of Civil Rights which was successfully closed in February of 2020. At the institutional level, Forrest has successfully worked to update our IT governance procedures, instituted mandatory web accessibility training for users and taught web accessibility training courses for our university community to ensure all future web content is compliant under the American Disabilities Act (ADA). Our mission is to ensure our content is inclusive, equitable and accessible to all people.
