Biography

Sebastian Mendez graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and a minor in marketing. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration. He started his career at JSU as a student graphic designer and served as a temporary designer before being promoted to interactive designer of the digital media services unit. As an interactive designer, Mendez combines his skills in graphic design, animation, digital advertising, web design and videography to meet the institutional goals of increasing JSU’s branding, reputation and enrollment. His global thinking, personal background and versatile language skills aid him in the recruitment and retention of a diverse population of students. He is currently an adjunct instructor for the Department of Communication. He is also the founder and president of the JSU LatinX Alumni Chapter and serves as the chair of the Hispanic Organization Supporting Education (HOPE).
