Biography
Brian Heaton is a former mainframe programmer who joined the web unit in 2004 and immediately began the university’s migration to its first content management system. That system now publishes more than 21,500 distinct web pages. He now manages the web support help desk, editor training and CMS template updates.
Heaton has presented at the Higher Education Web Professionals Association annual conference (HighEdWeb) and served on the HighEdWeb Program Committee for 13 years. He has also made several presentations to the campus community on the annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). In his free time he has officiated volleyball at the collegiate (indoor and beach), club (indoor and beach) and high school levels for 30 years. He is a member of the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks Hall of Fame and has donated more than 600 units of blood product. Brian holds a B.S. in computer information systems and M.B.A., both from Missouri State University.
