When I started at EMU two and a half years ago as the media relations director, we had a nice social presence but didn’t have a defined strategy behind it. Our posts were scheduled across all platforms and not targeted to each audience. With the help of a supportive team, I’ve implemented some parameters and strategies to make the most of our online presence. Items for potential exploration include:

  • Why everyone should be on board with a social media strategy.
  • Bringing out student, faculty, and alumni voices through social – examples that shine!
  • Giving your mascot a voice on social.
  • Working effectively with an agency – what we handle versus what the agency handles.
  • EAmbassador (influencer) program.
