Lori Packer has been working on the web in higher ed for nearly 20 years, as a front end web developer, content creator, and social media manager. Since January of 2020, she has been the director of social media for the University of Rochester, working on strategy, content, listening, crisis and risk management, and organic community development.
Before coming to higher ed, Lori was the lead U.S. editor for MSN Search — Microsoft’s pre-Bing search engine. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Lock Haven University and a master’s degree in communications from the University of Washington. She recently completed her MSLIS from the iSchool at Syracuse University, because libraries are amazing. Lori is a Phillies fan, a beer snob, and an insomniac. She is a huge geek who loves Supernatural, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Game of Thrones, Marvel. She could go on.
