Biography

Kate DeForest is a dynamic and engaging speaker and advocate for digital accessibility. Through relatable stories and experiences, Kate shares how small shifts can lead to big improvements. Her lively discussions provide the audience with actionable ideas and takeaways. She has taught website and document accessibility best practices and remediation for seven years and is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies. Kate is currently the web/digital content coordinator for the State University of New York at Oswego. She has worked on a number of campus accessibility initiatives, including building Oswego's Digital Accessibility website and launching multiple Campus Accessibility Challenges. She's given numerous presentations at local, state, national and international conferences.
