Ben Rapin is the associate vice president for IT and chief technology officer for Grand Valley State University. In his senior-leadership role, Ben oversees the areas of Enterprise Applications, Enterprise Architecture and Academic Research and Computing — providing exceptional services, innovative solutions, and resources to facilitate learning, teaching and research in support of GVSU’s educational mission and strategic priorities.

He has a master’s degree in Information Systems Management and bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Throughout his career he has led teams to deliver creative technical solutions to problems large and small. Prior to his roles in higher ed, Ben worked in consultive roles with manufacturing, healthcare, and municipal government clients.

Ben has been actively involved with the HighEdWeb Association since 2009. He has helped organize past regional conferences in Michigan, led the Association’s Sponsorship Committee, served as Conference Chair for the 2018 Annual Conference in Sacramento and is a past member of the Association’s Board of Directors.
