    A recent Gallup and Lumina Foundation survey reveals compelling statistics about adult learners and higher education. While 𝟓𝟏% of adults without a college degree are considering pursuing a credential in the near future—the highest rate since the survey began in 2020—the path to enrollment is fraught with barriers. The survey, involving over 𝟏𝟒,𝟎𝟎𝟎 adults aged 18 to 59, shows that 𝟖𝟒% are motivated by job-related reasons to consider higher education. Yet, an overwhelming 𝟖𝟓% cited the cost of higher ed as a significant barrier, with technical issues and delays in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process exacerbating the challenge. Furthermore, 𝟓𝟑% highlighted the importance of financial aid and scholarships in their decision to enroll or continue their education. John King Jr., Chancellor of The State University of New York system, articulates the broader sentiment: "People want to know that their postsecondary experience is going to translate into economic benefit." As we approach the demographic enrollment cliff, it's crucial to expand our focus.
