Reddit, the open, anonymous, egalitarian forum, is now the 7th most trafficked website in the United States—higher than Instagram, higher than Netflix, higher than Wikipedia. Communities on the platform range from college admissions subreddits with 150,000+ subscribers to niche subreddits with just a few hundred. Every higher ed enrollment marketer can pull value from the platform. And yet, many remain intimidated by Reddit.
In this session, we’ll demystify Reddit by breaking down the platform and giving you a guide of what you can do now, what you can do next, and how you level up. We’ll showcase real-life examples of how Western University uses Reddit to offer prospective students a direct line to admissions outside of the “formal” channels—and how this has helped increase their enrollment.
