Mary leads the web strategy and manages a team of developers at the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her path into tech was somewhat non-traditional, landing her first tech job in 2016 by replying to someone's tweet. Prior to higher ed web, she did web development in the telecommunications industry and accessible content development for K-12 digital curricula. Mary has a degree in mathematics and has also been a mathematics teacher, sailing coach, yoga instructor, molecular biology researcher, restaurant manager and more. She enjoys the tech world because she can use both sides of her brain — the creative and the analytical. Her interests include UX/UI, web development, leadership, inclusion, and accessibility.
