The Digital Accessibility Badging Program at the University of Minnesota began in Fall 2019 with the goal of encouraging people to apply digital accessibility principles to their everyday work. This program started with two small courses and has now grown to include 6 courses that teach how to apply accessibility to various digital applications, such as documents, PDFs, slides, etc. Our presentation will cover how we have built, maintained, and continue to expand the program. We will also share the quantitative data and qualitative feedback showing its success so far. Participants will see the curriculum emphasis on the 7 Core Skills of Digital Accessibility, how the courses are formatted for independent, hands-on learning, and how we use digital badges to foster the application of acquired skills and knowledge.
