Description

This session offers ways to think of creating new and updating existing documentation (whether for a department, a course, or for support services) as opportunities to augment accessibility and universal design for learning efforts, both for checking documents and remediating them. This process is particularly possible and prudent given the multitude of free and low-cost tools and resources for this process. During this workshop, I will showcase possibilities and affordances through tools, ranging from web browser plug-ins like Grackle Docs, online tools, to much more, highlight how they align in the workflow process, and show use cases for them.

Attendees and participants will be able to weigh various options, plan next steps, and have an opportunity to ask questions of an instructional technologist who has worked on document creation and accessibility through universal design for learners both as previous faculty and as current staff in higher education.
