Description

Heather Battaglia and Robert Jolly will introduce the United States Web Design System (USWDS) and highlight how accessibility is integrated into its foundation. As the basis from which hundreds of sites are developed and customized, the USWDS needs to meet rigorous requirements yet must be flexible for a variety of different uses and end users. Find out how design systems can help deliver a consistent, accessible experience and lower the design and development burden of distributed teams in the process. Takeaways will include understanding when it is appropriate to use a design system, how design systems help meet accessibility (and other) compliance needs, and what resources are available to help make accessibility part of your design structure.
